Balance: refers to the ways the elements of a piece are arranged (ie: line, shape, color and texture) it can be symmetrical meaning the elements have equal weight or asymmetrical (the elements are uneven but still work together], it can also be radial as in the objects or elements radiate out wards

5. Emphasis: a principle of art that happens anytime an element of a piece is given more dominance. Emphasis can be achieved through contrast, when elements have an obvious contrast it creates a focal point that draws a person attention to it.
